I Wish It Hadn't Happened

Life doesn't allow us to choose some things, except for how we will respond.

I recently read this quote from The Lord of The Rings in a financial blog I was perusing. It struck a chord with me due to life events that have happened in the last year. I woke up last night and this replayed almost immediately.

“I wish it need not have happened in my time,” said Frodo. “So do I,” said Gandalf, “and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.”

J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring

There is so much more to research and address before it becomes an essay blog post.

I use a comical name for this type of note. I call them - SNOREs. It stands for Sleepy Notes, Observations, Random Epiphanies. The kind of thought that hits you in the middle of the night and if you don’t write them down immediately, you may not remember them. But they will still haunt you anyway.
