The Spying Will Continue

A short real life example affirming that most news is noise and that essentially there is no reason to believe what our politicans tell us.

This a perfect recent real life example identifying why most news is noise. It also points out that most people are trying to sell us a message, not inform us. For this reason alone, we shouldn’t listen to ANY politician if their mouth is open.

The Fake Drama - FISA Act Expires

If you don’t pay attention to the news, I applaud you! In addition, I’ll inform you that at midnight, on June 12, 2026, the Title VII of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) is set to expire since Congress failed to pass an extension of the controversial spying law. Some lawmakers are upset with the domestic spying being done on American citizens and would like to reign it in, but also many lawmakers are upset with the controversial pick by the president to be the Director of National Intelligence. The president has since pulled this nomination, but it was too late. Congress let the Act expire and will deal with this later.

But don’t worry. The spying will continue.

Reality

What the politicians and talking heads appearing in print, on TV and various video and audio podcasts forget to tell you is that this capability “operates under yearlong certifications approved by the FISA Court”. The current certificate won’t expire until March 2027, so rest assured you will continue to be protected by the constant surveillance of our domestic agencies.

Congress expected lapses and situations like this to occur so they took precautions to ensure that no gap in our spying capabilities would actually occur.

As You Were

I regret asking you to be cynical, but we must understand the motivations of those pretending to inform us. Whether politican, CEO or any person of influence there is something they are trying to sell you or make you believe. Their purpose is not to inform you.

You may go back to your regularly scheduled program. There is nothing to see here.
